Hello From North Carolina
« on: January 27, 2013, 03:06:17 PM »
I've been lurking on this site for a couple months now and figured it was time to register and start posting.  This site has renewed my interests in hunting and the outdoors and I can't wait to get out in the woods again.
I originally grew up in Illinois and the 6 available days of deer shotgun season were never enough for me to get lucky enough to tag one(actually 4 days for me because my parents wouldn't let me skip school to go hunting.)  Thankfully NC has a longer season and hopefully with the Savage I inherited I'll be able to tag a few.  I also love wingshooting(upland and waterfowl) and also just shooting whatever gun I can get my hands on.
I found this site looking for more information in the Handi-Rifle because I think that is a neat gun and hope to purchase one in the near future(tax return hurry up!).  I think I found a good place for information...now to decide on a caliber.
I look forward to posting and responding to the rest of you as well as having the occassional "discussions" over our viewpoints on issues before we respectfully agree to disagree.  Let's get started!
Matt

mcwoodduck, I live in Hoke county and I think I may try to tear up Scotland county a little bit to get my feet wet out here.  The Sandhills Gamelands look pretty inviting and aren't too far from the house.    Any suggestions?

If you can spare the money you need to purchase a lifetime hinting and fishing license while you are in NC. Once you do it is still good even when you move out of state.
