super 16 barrel with one forearm screw

I have recently purchased a contender barrel that is 16 1/4 long and chambered in 45/70.  The forearm mounting screw is located at 7 1/16 inches from the breech and there is only one.  All of the other "Super 16" barrels that I have seen have two screws.  I am trying to get any info on this barrel that I can and try to determine what is the proper forearm for it.  Thanks!

Early 21" & Super 16 barrels had only one lug and the period forearms of that time only had one screw hole. Some where around maybe 1989 to 1991 they changed to two lugs on those barrels, my memory is a little fuzzy on those dates. A two hole carbine forend will match the one mounting hole perfectly, the other stays open. Ed usually has one hole forends for sale if you would like a one hole to match the barrel.

unless it really bothers you,
you can use a regular one-holer
on it. i only have one choate 10"
forearm, and i use it for all of "em.
