Scope power for a combo or drilling
« on: January 28, 2013, 02:43:43 PM »
Normally, I scope my combo or drilling guns with 1-5 or 2-7/8 scopes a few long range 7x65R have a 2-10.

I am thinking about putting a 3-9x40 on a 12/.222.  This scope is bigger than the one I typically us and I am wondering about how it will feel on the combo.  Any observations or thoughts on the higher power scope?

thanks

Doug

I like the Zeiss straight 6x that I have on one of my drillings best. I don't believe you can beat a leupold 6x42 for any hunting application except a dedicated varmint rifle.  ;)

Of course if you can afford a zeiss then go with that.  :o I can't afford a German made zeiss new so the only ones I have came on guns I bought used.  ;)

I go back and forth between Leupold and Zeiss.
