Single piece scope mount for BAR (dnz game reaper ???)
« on: January 29, 2013, 03:56:26 AM »
I have a '71 model BAR 30-06 that I bought close to 20 years ago. When I bought it used I put the hi-rise see thru mounts and a Simmons scope on it.  This setup has served the purpose over the years, however a scope upgrade is needed as well as a better mount system. I'm looking into purchasing a Nikon 40mm, maybe a 50mm if I find a deal and I'm also looking into getting the scope down as low as possible to the barrel with a DNZ game reaper single piece scope mount. These particular mounts have 3 options (model 50500-low, 52500-med., and 54500-high). Which would do the job with the 40mm and if I did find a good price on a 50mm, would I have to go with the 54500-high mount? Thanks for input! ;)

http://www.dnzproducts.com/tube-heights-info. This answered my question. Maybe others can also find it useful in the future if they're considering this mounting system. Thanks

I went ahead and ordered the DNZ Game Reaper for my Browning BAR 30-06 and mounted a Nikon Buckmaster 3-9x40 scope on it. I chose the low mount and it fit great. It gave a great, low profile and was a breeze to mount. It is solid in every aspect. Hope this helps! Happy shooting!

Just looked at their website for 700 Rem.  Noticed they make a left and right handed mount.  They look symetrical to me.  What is the difference in one or the other?  Never seen or heard of a left handed mount.  Maybe a QR but not an ordinary model.
