Ohio Gray Beard spring shoot
« on: January 29, 2013, 07:02:50 AM »
Biker Beans has told me He would like to have it On April 20, so unless there is a good reason why we shouldn`t have it then, that`s when it will be. The plans are to have it again this Spring at the Shelby County Deer Hunters Ass. near Sidney Oh. They have more benches for the 100 and 200 yrd. range than we will have peolpe. There is also a 50 yrd. and a 25 yrd. range. I guess Stimpy will also be there, so who else is up for it? I will get direction and other needed imfo out later.

AtlLaw, Bad news, they do not alow beer. They had a problem with it back in the 1970`s so they don`t alow beer when shooting. But your close enough it would make a nice ride on the bike and even if you don`t bring a gun I`ll bet you can find one to shoot.

I ran into the same problem when we stopped in Ohio for the nite once.  I asked at the Motel where we could get beer and wings.  I was told they don't sell beer along the interstate!   :o   I'm beginning to not like Ohio...  ;D

Richard,

If you can make it I will make sure there is a watering hole at your hotel.  Better yet, I'll rent the room for you.  Jason & I will stand guard outside your room so you don't end back up in one of them Civil War POW camps. ::)
Catfish,
Me and wife plan to make it.  Hopefully a lot of other folks will too.

Just let "Mama 8uck5nort" know she got a shout out.  ;D
She said she would like to come out and shoot. Conincidently we are going to the Lafayette gunshow today to try and get her a 22 pistol to start her out with, so hopefully she will be bringing her own firearm. We tried to do it yesterday, but "life" got in the way and could not make it. She might even make some authentic Italian food to bring along. Maybe a tray of homemade baked ziti.  :) She doesn't know that yet, but I might be able to talk her into it.  ;)

Bucksnort,

They have a nice club house with (IIRC) bathrooms.  I would bring folding chairs to set in outside but there are chairs and tables in the clubhouse.  Jason & I will have a gas grill and stuff to burn. Also will bring some mayo-based salads and chips, pop etc.  I think the also sells snacks and pop.  Catfish said he would be there by 9am, Jason and I should be there before 10am.  Looking forward to seeing you again.

I think I am going to make it to the shoot. I am going to bring some small rifle primers (3000) along and a couple of bricks of 22 LR to trade for other stuff. I do not want money for them and will trade for equivalent value stuff. I am not out to gouge anyone or make a profit. There maybe someone who needs one or the other that I have extra that I can trade for something else I could use.

Good Luck and Good Shooting

Jason F, Jedman & I will be there.  Hope to see lots of you folks there.   Don't believe the weatherman calling for colder temperatures as there will be so much hot air at the club you will think you are in Florida. ;)

If you haven`t made it yet, forget it! It`s all over now. We burnt up some powder, but shot more bulls than anything esle. Again we saw a bunch of rounds you won`t see many other places, I just don`t know where these guys get the ideas for some of the things they bring. If you have something bad to say about Stimpy, now is the time, he is off the web till he gets moved. I think we all had a great time and I would like to thank everyone for comming up, down or over, depending on where they lived.  ;)

Bucksnort,

Sorry I missed you and the missus, but my better half had me on a strict schedule.  My son is deploying oversea with his Jet in about a week and she got an invite to a going away party for him so I had to leave early to watch a couple of teenagers dismantle my house. :o ;D   Glad you made it and I hope Catfish didn't tell you the same lies he used on me and Jason. ::)

Catfish,

Thanks again for having us.  You have a very nice club and membership and I had a great time.  It pains me that Stimpy plans on giving you the wrong date again for the Fall Shoot. ;)
