There is at least one gentleman on this forum that has built them...stick around, I'm sure others will see this and respond....I'm working on a design like this, too...  .22 or .25 cal blank ignition system...

Admiralv,

Finding an original firing mechanism will be tough. I have seen a couple that have come up for sale in the past 5 or, so years. However, they normally sell for a pretty good price. I know that Sarco does have them listed on their website for the $450-500 price range. You may want to consider making one of your own.

Also, here is a previous posting on this subject.

Keep in mind that these devices mentioned above are for a Bronze "C" Lyle. The type you are looking for is slightly different. I will look to see if I have any photos of one. I do know that there are shown in "The Lifesaving Guns of David Lyle" by Paul Barnett.

Hope this help.

This is what my cannon look like (pics show below), I only have half of the 32 cal firing mechanism screwed on top of it.  I heard there is a gentleman name Terry Parks in Mill Valley, CA can make one, but his number got disconnected.  Please help me to find a firing mechanism for the lyle cannon.  Thank you very much

Admiralv,

I believe I still have Terry's contact info. I'll see if I can get a hold of him. If I do I will send you a PM.
