All the schools here in NE AR have one uniformed and armed resource officer on duty.  I think its good for the kids to be able to develop a relationship with a leo.  One kid had a flare gun at school this week.  He said he found it and he had no flares but he now has felony charges against him.

we just had a shooting here in atlanta.  one kid in serious condition I think.   it was another student who did the deed.
we need to harden the buildings with a cop at the door and not in his office at the other end of the building.

I actually found out about this organization just today and by accident at that.  After reading about on their website, I was quite impressed with at least what I read.  I didnt know there was such an organization.  I did know however that there were some LEO in schools these days.
 
Is it your guys' observations that have actually dealt with members of this organization that thhey are not what they say to be?  I mean, the kid with a flare gun that is facing felony charges is absolutely ridiculous.

There is a limit to how long the feds will pay for a sro officer.   The schools have picked up the tab and reimburse the city police for having an officer (or more) in the schools now.  The good thing about the kid with the flare gun, is he will have a clean slate when he turns 18 as he is still a juvi at age 16.  I suspect the charges will not stick anyway as there was no apparent malice intended.

The cops in school, or whatever you want to call them, have been to control the disorderly students, protecting the staff, and less agressive students.  Even the little elementary school nearby has at least 4 doors so which door do you man?  The "shot down in legislature" provision (Colorado) to allow(not require) CCW in schools by staff would be a better deterrent.  Right now the focus is schools.  Then what about malls, theaters, parks?  The list of where you COULD wish for armed security grows until it is impossible.

Well another victimless crime. We must keep the jails filled so that the sheeple will know that the government is taking care of us.

Let's see....
   Perhaps if we had enough security personnel protecting the children, there would no longer be any mass killings of 20-25 children at a time, such as as Sandy hook school.
         That wouldn't help the agenda of certain politicians & groups who are trying so hard to destroy the 2nd amendment.  Then if the 2nd goes..then most of the rest of the Bill of Rights would be easier to topple!
