Saying he was anti-gun might be a bit of an exaggeration, but he was a Democrat, and we all know what that means.
I think the more important thing to point out here is that IT WAS NOT SELF DEFENSE. The person shot was known to the senator. The senator pled guilty to assault and was fined $1,000. Now, lets talk about how our elected officials get preferential treatment, because I'm pretty sure a $1k fine is pretty weak, when it comes to assault with a deadly weapon. Doesn't that usually earn a fellow some jail time?
I think that covers it...oh, wait... He also (allegedly)molested young men. What an outstanding example of a good citizen!
