Sorry guys! i just traded my Handi .223 away.
i liked the little rifle and took a few hare fox and roedeer with it
however the gunlaws in my country says only 6 huntingrifles
and when i found a pre war(1938) Winchester m70 in 220swift with a some form of peepsight on it
the Handi was sacrificed

Good choice on the Winchester though.  :)
If I ever get to do some traveling around the world hunting a Roe Deer is on my bucket list. I saw a show once on hunting them in Hungary. Beautiful animals.

Nilz... I am curious which six weapons you have chosen to keep...? I am not sure what I would go with if I were limited to six... might be a good GBO question. Do your regulations apply to barrels or just receivers? Could you have one SB2 receiver with six barrels, or would they count each barrel as a seperate gun?

Six rifles? I think there could be some better choices but I pretty well have what I need, I would go with:

Savage 110 in .243 - it would be very versatile and one can reach out with it if needed.
Remington 742 in 30-06 - Mine has been stone anvil reliable so far and it would be nice to have four fast hard hitting shots if needed.
Winchester model 94 carbine in .357 - A model 92 might actually be better but I have this. Nice all around handi gun.
Marlin 39A - Always need a .22, can't do much better.
Remington 34 .22 - Open sites for bad weather and every bit as accurate and reliable as the Marlin.

I am not sure about the sixth one. Depending upon where I think I may be living possibly a Marlin Guide gun in 45-70.

I gather 6 is the limit because you can't carry more.  Seems I ran across this somewhere else.  Everything I have is special to me, even the clunkers, which is mostly what I can afford; I call it patina, and definitely history.  I wish I could know the experiences of a few of them.

Thanks for  understanding my dilemma!

Law here says 6 hunting veapons (slots), not only rifles (sorry) that includes shotguns and combinationguns
extra barrels bolts and surpressors demands permits bot dont take up a slot
pistols for dispatchin in traps demands a permit but dont take up a slot (no hunting with handgus allowd only for dispatching in traps and over dogs)
You could get a 7th slot but that reqires you to be a prohunter ore very special needs
no hunting with bows or handguns..
thats for hunting
for competitive shooting there are other rules and you cant hunt with a gun on a competetive permit

My guns for hunting is as follows
1 Ruger No1 375H&H
2 Tikka m695 6.5X55
3 Mauser M98 9X57
4 Ruger 10/22 22lr
5 Skb M100 12guage
6 Winchester M70 220Swift

and on a competetive license i have a
Ithaca m37 12guage

Thx! it´s a struggel to find the perfect combination with just 6 slots

however since the 220Swift is new to me but almost 75years old (five didgit se,nr starting with a 1)
if the barrel is to worn to produce somkind of accuracy
would if be concidered sacrilige to rebarrel?

I have four 22lr Handies and at least a dozen 22lr rifles alone.  I cannot imagine 6 hunting guns total. :o

I have a pre 64 Model 70 220 Swift, but it's a 1962 or 1963 model.  Long story on it but its had less than a box of shells ever fired in it and had been a safe queen for about 48 years before I got it.  I've never shot it (don't plan to), the first thing I did with it was took it to my gunsmith and had him take it apart and completely clean it.  I recommend you do the same to see if it needs anything.  My gunsmith has been around a while and he's not a very personable guy, it was interesting to see his face light up when I took that rifle out of the case.  They really did make them different back then.

I agree, that is an excellent list... BUT, considering that the receiver takes up only ONE slot and barrels only require a permit, I would consider letting the 9X57 Mauser go (since you have that wonderful #1 in .375)... pick up a Handi SB2 frame and start collecting barrels in all the fun calibers that your heart desires (.22 Hornet, .223, .243, 7mm-08, .30/30,  .308, 35 W, .45/70 etc, etc...)  Just a thought...

I guess my list of six would be;
1. Custom .22 semi (Dlask Dar22), for pure fun and inexpensive shooting.
2. Henry H004 lever in .22 WMR, for critter dispatchin'.
3. Browning Silver Lightning 12 gauge for upland and waterfowl.
4. Browning BPS 12 ga. 3 1/2" chamber for turkeys and back-up to my Lightning.
5. Browning A-Bolt stainless/laminate in .30/06 as a "do-it-all"
6. Cheat with one SB2 frame and a whole bunch of barrels!!!

yu sure got it covered but either the mauser or the ruger seems redundant.but dont know what id change as the 220 can be loaded all the way from 22 hornet to 223 to 220 velocities.and you have a 6.5 already which covers tons of animals yu will hunt.

If I were limited by my government to six guns I know which I would go with. I would go with all of them to another country. Maybe it's an American thing?

How popular are Handi rifles and shotguns in Sweden?  I didn't know they were exported outside of North America.

I presume Sauer  rifles are not basement bargain prices.
BTW We don't have the H&R accessory barrel program in Canada either.

Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
