say a prayer for my 11 year old grandaughter
« on: February 05, 2013, 01:05:46 AM »
My son in law was moving some snow in his yard with his bulldozer and had some pretty big banks plowed up and the kids thought it would be fun to play on them. He didnt know they were up on them and was plowing along side of one and the girl fell and slid down the bank and her had got into the idler on the track and was crushed. They had to medivac her by plane to milwaukee Wis. last night to a trama center. Her hand was crushed and there were mulitble bones sticking out. Daughter went with her on the plane and called about 2 am and said she was just going into surgury and it would take 6-8 hours and the doctors figured it was about a 60/40 chance of saving her had so any prayer that you guys can muster would be GREATLY appreciated. She a real good kid and it would crush me if she lost her hand! I know this is way off topic but figure maybe Bill will let it slide for the years ive moderated for him.

just got off the phone. they saved the hand but one of the main blood vessels is destroyed so there will be circulation problems. the nerve to her thumb was crushed so they had to cut one of the nerves to one of her middle fingers and transplant it for her thumb so her two middle fingers wont work independly. All the bones in her wrist were crushed and some pieces were missing so its all pinned together and they said she will loose a good part of the mobility in the wrist. She will need more surgerys to remove pins and plates and possibly to install more where the bones dont regenerate properly but they did say to consider it almost a miracle that they didnt have to amputate. I thank all of you as its people like you that are kind enough to take a minute and say a prayer for someone you dont even know thats amazing. I think its prayers like that that God puts a priority on!!

"...they did say to consider it almost a miracle that they didnt have to amputate."

I think of it as a full-blown miracal, thank you Jesus!  I've heard several doctor say wonderful results weren't due to what they did because they didn't think what they did was going to work.  Meaning God finishes what docs only start.

"I thank all of you as its people like you that are kind enough to take a minute and say a prayer for someone ..."

We are told to pray for others and it's a privilege to do so.  I'm totally sure it's prayer that He responds to and we will have to answer for our lack of such prayers so, in a way, we also do it for ourselves!  :)

Now we will pray for recovery.  And for payment of the costs.  (Those who voted for BO's "free health care" are going to be appalled at how much it's going to cost us all!)

Prayers sent.
I have heard that younger kids have better chances of reconstructing nerves and bones.  I hope she gets well soon.

done
loyd 1 of my daughters had a  accident when she was 7 .severe broken leg next to hip, with only small stub of leg bone to work with the surgeons repaired it.took a few surgerys,a body cast from arms down, long hospital stay lot of physical therapy.
she recovered fine(now 32 years old).
doctors said if she had been an adult she would not have walked again.
they said children are amazing at healing and are alot tougher than we think.
so hang in there, miracles do happen, especially with kids.
keep us posted

Got one little chuckle out of all of this. When we were in the emergency room at the local hospital before she was flown to WI the first thing she asked the emergency room doctor is if he thought she would be able to race her motocross bike this summer. Apple doesnt fall far from the tree! Shes grandpas little girl allright!
