looking for a little info on a scope mount for my
H&R topper model 158 30-30
plus looking to see how old this H&R is AM229XXX

See the year of mfr and FAQs sticky on scope bases above, if the chamber swell is profiled(stepped) and not completely round it takes a Weaver 60a, if round it will take a modern scope base.
