Updated today at 10:28 AM       FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- Doctors would be required to make ultrasound images available to women seeking abortions under legislation passed by the Senate on Friday.
 
   The Senate also passed a separate measure that would require women get face-to-face consultations with medical professionals before undergoing abortions.
 
   Both measures passed the Republican-controlled Senate 31-4.
 
   Similar proposals have repeatedly cleared the Senate in recent years only to die in the Democratic-controlled House. And the prognosis is no better this year.
 
   Rep. Tom Burch, chairman of the House Health and Welfare Committee, said he doesn't believe the proposals have enough support to clear his panel.

SO, you were thinking that the woman just walks in cold, and tells the receptionist she wants an abortion and they just put her on a table? You don't think the doctor that is going to  do this consulted with her first You know, I am beginning to think that in order to purchase a firearm you need to have a colonoscopy, shove a TV camera up your wazoo , and make available to you autopsy photos of all 20 children from Sandy Hook. They have a great deal in common. Neither one has a damn thing to do with the business at hand- and- it involves someone from the outside sticking their nose in someone elses business.

The day you have a right to go INTO someone elses body in order to tell them what to do with it, they have a far greater right to search your house with a microscope to see how you are living and removing anything they dont like. Both sides continually tell me that "there is no equivalency here". BS. It makes me nauseous. Ted Nugent had it exactly right for EVERYONE, just leave US/EVERYONE the hell alone.

It is a shame when people feel it is wrong to protect those to young to protect themselves. I am a firm beliver in a person and a woman in particular having a right to decide what is correct for her body. But once she decides to make a baby there is no longer just her body involved but that of another human . Her decision should have been before she made the baby not after. Lack of control on her part is no reason to murder another human. In the case of rape or medical reasons it should be considered on a by case basis.

DEFOE. Thanks for the link. I hate to see a woman die like that, but murdering a baby should come with risks, it's only fair that her life also be at risk. POWDERMAN.
