the blackhawk is a decent gun. it is a clone of the diana 34. they are  accurate and have good power. the phanton has about the same power, but the trigger REALLY stinks!

Both are good rifles but I'm a real fan of the phantoms stock. Have had a couple that I've rigged out and given as gifts, mine all shot the rws superdome pellets VERY well.  J

I got the Ruger, now I read about them not being lubed well and needing tuned to shoot well and last longer. Your thoughts ??

A lot of them need tweaking from new. I actually had to do more to my Winchester-Daisy 1000x to get it to shoot accurately and repeatably. Main issue were the stock screws--- they were all loose, and they'd work loose again after shooting it a while. A little Locktite took care of that. Mine was made in Brazil--- usually those are pretty well done, but the press fit front sight was also loose, so I had to get a new one. My barrel also had something dried in it at one point, so I worked on it with some Bore Brite until I got that out. It wasn't dip-lubed, like the cheap Chinese guns, is about all I can say for it. After doing all that, and cycling a few hundred pellets through it, it finally has some pretty good accuracy.

Another thing about airguns that seems a little peculiar at first, is they are less accurate if they push the pellets supersonic. That pellet flies a little like a badminton bird, with that skirt on it, so it wobbles when it breaks the sound barrier. Noisy, too. My recommendation is to get a gun rated for as fast a muzzle speed as you can afford, then get pellets that are heavy enough to slow it down to subsonic. (Speed of sound is around 1050-1100 fps, if I remember correctly.) It will be more accurate and hit harder with the heavier pellets, and won't be as loud. ;)
If you give up, THEY don't have to win.

The only think I cna add is try a bunch of different pellets.  When I bought my air rifle I saw a bullet I thought was cool and bought a lifetime supply only to find out that my rifle did not like ot shoot them and I had a 1.5" group at 25 yards.  and while plinking in the back yard I was hitting little targets 1/3 of the time.
Found out that mine likes the heavy pellets by RWS but I am now getting a 1/2" group at the 25 yards off of a make shift support.  I did try the Gamo gold pellets and they too gave a small group and were cool to shoot through tin cans and other hard objects for a pellet rifle.
2- 50 cal ammo cans and a sand bag on top is my make shift shooting bench.
But it has been more than enough for rats, ground squirrels, crows, and rabbits.
Oh and if you are going to scope it buy a pellet rifle scope.  My first scope was a BSA that the rifle ate, the second is a Bushnell pellet scope that has been great.
