Phoenix homeowner shoots, kills burglary suspect Published February 09, 2013
FoxNews.com Police say a homeowner shot and killed a 16-year-old suspected of breaking into his Phoenix home Friday afternoon.
MyFoxPhoenix.com reports that the 36-year-old homeowner arrived home to find four men ransacking the property.
As the suspects were fleeing the home, one of the suspects approached the homeowner, who fired one round at the teen from his handgun.
The suspect, identified as Mario Barcenas, was transported to a local hospital, where he later died, the station reported. The other suspects were not located.
Police say an initial investigation into the shows that the homeowner acted in self defense, according to MyFoxHouston.com. Charges have not been filed.
