Looks really good, Swampy..  I see you aren't into those new-fangled bows with all the little wheelies..

That's 1/2 of my old hot tub cover.  It stops them if I miss.  I do that sometimes. :-[ :-[ :-[

I don't really enjoy compounds.

How long a shot can you make?  Looks like about 25 yards to me.

I can shoot about 35 yards but I rarely shoot more than about 26-27 yards.  When hunting I try to keep my shots down to about 15 yards.  I'm just not that good.

Lookin' good Swampy. ;)
I'm pretty fond of the stickbows too. I've got a handmade longbow that draws 62# at 30" and it's alot of fun to shoot.
Don't worry about missin'.... we all do it sometimes. ;D

Say Swampy, the last bow I remember you writing about before this longbow was a black widow recurve. Do you still have that one?  :o

Looks good swamp...no white stuff down there...  ::)

I notice your arrows have little to no helical... Are you shooting your compound arrows or do you shoot normally shoot these with a stick bow? Your accuracy will likely improve with some helical.

These were actually made for my friend's recurve.  They are too stiff for this bow.

I like it!  Makes me sad though.  I developed shouldere trouble and had to give up my recurve shooting.  I think maybe I can handle 40lb. now, but I don't know.  You think 40lb is enough to hunt with?  I'm thinking about a hybrid longbow, like the Savannah.

I bet you could handle it.  When my shoulder is bothering me I only shoot 10-15 arrows a day.  The Savannah is a nice bow.  40 is plenty, Ishi's bows were about 40lbs.
