J. C. Higgins Model 30
« on: February 09, 2013, 09:33:31 AM »
I have a J. C. Higgins Model 30 .22 semi-auto.  It has no serial number; the model # is 583.70, which I have found refers to Hi-Standard manufacture.  I haven't found any definitive trace on the approximate yer of manufacture...can anyone help on this?

It has the retractable sling in the buttstock.

If you'll search the archives here there is at least one thread that includes the HS/JCH Model 30.  I may have even posted the links to all kinds of info on them in it as well.

Mine is a Model 31, I got it new in 1959 and still have it and both JCH Rifleman Sr and Jr scopes for it, and it's still like new.
