barrel accessory program mail in question
« on: February 10, 2013, 01:33:45 PM »
So I have been told that if I ship a gun it has to be through an ffl. My question is two parts. I would like to know if I send them everything but barrel and have them put a barrel on and they ship it back does it have to go to an ffl? Also any new barrel I get do I then have to register it and wait another 10 days? Gun is not registered does it have to be to ship/ get new barrels?

Second part I would like to know if I can ship them just a receiver and have a barrel put on it or can I send the receiver and have a stock/ for end /and barrel put on it. Thanks

I am in california

Thanks john

Complete instructions are on the accessory barrel webpage, you don't have to ship from/to an FFL, that's only for transfer of ownership, you own the firearm.  ;) They specifically state they want everything except the current barrel, although I always send just a frame and ordered a stock set.

Ditto, I called first to make sure I was doing it the way they wanted.  Always seems prudent to talk to a live body before sending it in.

There's no choice, you must call to get a service request number and check on availability before sending a frame in for an accessory barrel.
