difference in weight between 357 and 44 barrels?

Just curious if anyone knows the weight difference between the two barrels? I have the 357 barrel and
it is like a bull.

Handi barrels vary in OD and taper, even in the regular weight barrels. They have not made a bull barrel in 357 or 44 mag. The regular weight barrels are heavy however. I have both of them in the 22" length and they are about the same in weight. The muzzle diameters is .750" for the 357 and .800" for the 44 mag. Those are mine and they can vary from one to the next. The slimmest regular barrel I have is a 30-30 and it is .670 at the muzzle.

Our .44 Mag barrels are a couple ounces lighter than the .357 barrels that we used to have... I don't know what the barrel profile is like on new production guns... maybe someone with the new versions of each will chime in... if weight is the supreme issue, you can cut them down to 16" as the pistol calibers do well in this shorter length... it makes for a very handy "Handi."

+1 Hoyt.  The pistol caliber shorties are a joy.  They're light, swing and carry easily.  The best part is velocity and accuracy isn't much or at all changed.  My .445 is next to see surgery.  I've done the carbine calibers to 18 inches and the pistol calibers to 16.5 and am very pleased with all of them.

I had both barrels fitted to the same receiver about a year ago.  The 357 barrel weighed slightly more than the 44 barrel which surprised me.  Seems like it was about half an once, maybe a little less.  It wasn't enough to consider when putting together a carry rifle.
