Old Army questions
« on: February 17, 2004, 07:05:47 AM »
Has anyone here ever tried to get a second cylinder out of Ruger?  I wouldn't mind having two cylinders.

I have two stainless Old Army's, both with the cylinder out of index.  That is the cylinder locks up with the chamber slightly out of line with the bore.  I picked up a blued on at the gun show the other day and observed the same problem.  What's the chances Ruger will fix this and do it right?  Seems to me the only cure would be to replace the cylinder.  If they attempt to move the bolt hole in the frame it would throw my conversion cylinder out of algnment.  (As things now stand, the conversion cylinder lines up correctly and shoots a much tighter group.)

For the sake of a second cylinder I could send the revolver to Ruger sans cylinder and ask for a new one.

If the cylinder does not line up with the bore send it to Ruger, that is an inexcusable error.
