Has anyone tried flechettes, brads or nails[from nail guns] in 12ga,20ga,410ga loads for varmint control?
Results,load data?
If I load,it'll be with a basic Lee loader.
Thanks.

They will not fly right and useless fort hunting. And can be dangerous to load

I was at a friends gun shop when a guy came in with a gun he tried to shoot nails in . The cuts in the barrel were very deep. At some point they were deep enough to stop some of the nails which jammed crossways in the bore. I would guess to load such it would take a speicalized cup wad or other protection and way to keep them lined up and going stright.

Flechettes in shot shells have a poor reputation. They pattern poorly and lack penetration. They are normally loaded so that half of them are point forward in the wad cup (or whatever is used) and half are fin forward.
Brads or nails would have even poorer aerodynamics as well as being prone to the problems already mentioned.
Varmint control......regular shot loads work just fine.
