Right questions when buying from Gunbroker

Dear Sirs, I have been bitten by the bug. I must obtain an M83 in 454. I have been cruising GB and am wary of "2 rds fired" guns.
What would all you ole salty wheelgunners need to see before buying?

I would check the sellers past rating and see if the have a inspection period ussually around 3 days as long as you don't fire the gun. With a 454 I would also ask if they have fired 45 colt ammo thru it unless they had the spare cylinder in 45 colt. I have bought 2 guns online in the past year both were brand new, a Les Baer 45 and a Freedom Arms 475 Linebaugh with no problems.  I think sometimes people buy the larger calibers and find out they don't like the recoil and muzzle blast and sell them with a low round count although 2 rounds fired seems odd.

I would think that you should be able to find a Premier 454 for less than $1400. They come along often enough. I've seen Premier 454's go for less than $1300 a few times in the last 6 months. You have to be ready to jump the minute it goes for sale, no time to wonder where the money is gonna come from. Good luck.

That is encouraging news, I was starting to think I had missed the deal of a lifetime! If only that fine weapon had been available at the same time as the scales fell from my eyes.

A small update, and please understand I am not here to bash anyone. Armslist, field grade M83, $1100, good deal!, No feedback anywhere, not willing to drop weapon off that any proper gun store. I was forced to decline. The search continues..........
