When viewing youtube videos from Thompson Center and they recommended the Nikon Omega for black powder. What kind do you folks prefer?

I have a Nikon Prostaff 2X7, on my Traditions Pursuit and I had problems w/ it in the begining but Nikon has great customer service and replaced it, no questions asked. No problems w/ the new one. Works great.
I also have a Burris Fulfield II 6X on my Traditions Evolution. I have never had a problem and the glass is very clear. I really like the Burris so I guess it really depends on your likes, needs and budget.
Good Luck Jim

I've never found a need for a lot of magnification on a muzzleloader. One of mine has a 2x7 Leupold Vari-X II, but four of them have Simmons 4X ProDiamond shotgun scopes which I like very much and find totally satisfactory. I'll likely switch the Leupold to my .22 Hornet and mount a ProDiamond on the muzzy.

While I do have a Nikon Omega on one of my muzzle loaders, it's a Handi rifle in 45-70 converted to smokeless.  My other "real" BP muzzle loaders all wear shotgun (low magnification) scopes, usually 2-7x.  The Simmons 8 Point scope which is a 3-9x scope works really great for BP, and it won't break the bank.

My quandary, I personally, don't think I have enough Handi's but, I know I have more Handi's than I really need or should have.

I prefer a short lightweight scope with very low magnification, for the money its hard to beat the little bushnell banner 1.75x4x32. Truely clear and bright. Has held up for years. I'll also second the little simmons prodiamond models, mine have all held up fine but are a bit weak in the glass dept. Mine sorta has the fishbowl effect. Still works great though. J

I carry a ML more than a centerfire. Several different opening days, different places.I have the best I can afford,a 50mm VXIII and a 44mm conquest, mounted on savages. They earn their worth every year.My son or my bud carries my spare.
