New Laws Needed, But who's going to create or pass them?
« on: February 16, 2013, 03:41:09 AM »
I am sick of all the travel time and time-off that our Government people enjoy.  they are paid to do their jobs in Washington, and they should have some accountability. The President is constantly "anywhere but Washington"  as are many Senator and Reps as well.  With the problems of the country these days, isn't there enough work they all COULD and SHOULD be doing other than flying around the country for this and that?  Who's going to force these people to do their jobs? The same ones that are allowed to set their own salaries? I don't think so.  Something specifically needs to be done to force the issue. Any ideas out there short of all-out revolution?

I think the country is over run with "laws". We should fire all the politicians just after we pass one that forces all government entities to respect our Constitution. Also erase all new law passed since 1975.

Yeah I agree with "fire them all", but that's not realistic. because that's never going to happen...we need real solutions to these issues ,not new laws I guess. Maybe total chaos is the only answer. Too bad good points can't be stressed without a bunch of violence following. Maybe a nationwide "strike" against EVERYTHING, but that's not really realistic either....

When I hear the phrase "There oughta be a law!" I usually cringe and think "here we go again" but in this case I agree with you 100%

The problem now is too many laws, yet so many would have new laws enacted.  :o   No new law will right the wrongs of bad laws of the past.  There is but one thing that will correct our present situation and the majority are too gutless to admit it, let alone speak outwardly about it.

Many states in their original constitutions banned lawyers from participating in political pursuits. Having lawyers involved in setting up the final state and national constitutions that idea was killed. sounds like a very logical option to me. lawyers are in the business of creating laws that create their business. What do we expect. We get what we allow as with all branches of government. we have laws to cover most injustices now and did have in the past but the laws weren't enforced. We have a lazefair management of civil affairs. We have laws to prevent citizens from vigilante justice. Which will make the system work? Laws or the citizens taking action? ear

As many laws as there are now that are not enforced, how do you know the laws we need aren't already laws, just not enforced?
