My Opinion of My New Remington 700 Tactical In 223 cal.
« on: February 16, 2013, 06:50:47 AM »
I haven't got to shoot it as much as I would like to, however from 50 to 300 yards, if I do my part, it doesn't miss. I am shooting a 55 grain bulk bought bullet (Remington Spitzers) with Winchester 748 powder, in once fired 5.56 brass. It is grouping well under an inch at 100 yards, and is dead on at 300 yards with a 2.5" high zero. Excellent rifle, however the adjustable trigger needed some work and that took me about 30 minutes, but other than that, no complaints.

Sounds like yours shoots the same way mine does.  Love this rifle.  I have a Bushnell fixed 10x Mildot on mine just because it is what I got comfortable with and trained with.  It's nothing fancy, and not the best for all applications, but perfect for my needs.  May I ask about your scope and any other details you're willing to share?  Thanks.

I used Leupold mounts, and a 3 1/2 to 10 power Leupold Vari X III

I have been looking for the similar gun the 700 AAC but they are impossible to find. There is one like you have at a store near here. Might have to get it since ya'll have good reports. Is the trigger hard to get adjusted ? I have the same trigger on a 308 and it stinks but the gun is a shooter.

I had to clean the trigger up a bit. I ended up takin the plunger out aand shortening it to get the pull i wanted.

Thanks , Got a gunsmith friend trying to sell me a 40X trigger for it , I will try your way . The only difference I see in your gun and the AAC is color of stock and threaded barrel.
