6.5 Remington Magnum Load Data

Any one out here have some tried and true data for this ahead of its time, obselete cartridge? I am preparing to get MGM to build me an Encore barrel 26" in length with a throat
that will accomodate an OAL of 3.25 inches which should allow me to utilize the powder capacity of the case. What I would like to shoot is probably the 130 grain Sierra HPBT
Gameking or the 140 grain Sierra.  Any data for this round would be appreciated.

I've had the 350 Rem Mag, the same case as the 6.5mm. With these short cases and necks you will probably be better off using bullets that are not long for their weight.
In an older Speer Manual I see  IMR 4831 and IMR 4530 giving the top velocities with a 140 gr bullet.
 
A newer Hornady Manual shows H-380 giving a 140 gr bullets a top load for 2900 fps.

With the longer throat could you load heavier bullets(not seating them as deep as you would for a short action). Since some of the military and european 6.5s made their reputation with heavier bullets this would be an improvement of the abilities of  the 6.5.

Yes, it would make a difference as long as the OAL also fits the action/magazine and the twist is sufficient to stabilize the bullet.

i dont have ANY experience with the 6.5mag but have shot a slug of deer with my 264 mag using the 120 nos ballistic tip and its never let me down. It kills like lightning and usually gives me an exit wound. When i first got the gun i wanted to run 140s but found it shoots the 120 bts hands down better then any other bullet so i said what the heck and went hunting with it. A decision ive yet to have any reason to regret.
