After looking for a while for a used scope mount for my Valmet 412 here in Canada and couldn't find any, I decided to make my own.
I had a milling machine so I made a base and bought a set of Leupold rings to mount on it. ( I am not a machinest, it is just a hobby). I rust blue the base.
I mounted it on my Valmet for last Fall's deer season. I didn't have time to get out to the range to sight it in so I bore sighted it with my laser bore sighter in my basement. The scope (2-7X Bushnell Elite) was bang on dead center and I had plenty of scope adjustment in all directions.
Here is the result, 11 points 250lb buck taken at 60 yards with the 12 gauge slug. You can see the entry point near the shoulder.
