great time great memories and great people
« on: February 21, 2013, 04:52:14 PM »
I was in the middle of doing some reloading for a few of my prairie dog rifles getting them ready for this spring and couldn’t help but think back at all the good times we had. I had to get on here and look at all the pictures. We really need to do this again I miss seeing all you old farts.

We have Pdogs near Ft Sill, but no access. If only we could shoot them on city land. ::)

I'm willing to drive a ways to shoot with the guys.

Thanks, Dinny

I've made the trip twice from N.IL to Hooker and it was worth every mile to shoot with you guys. Got to admit it was a pretty sweet set up when Dan was there .The work that he and TJ did along with many locals and others was tremendous. A reunion Rendezvous would be something to cherish ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) Kurt

I may have found a place near Lawton, OK to shoot p-dogs. I still need to talk to the land owner. Last person I know that had permission says it's rimfire only though.

Thanks, Dinny

I could not make the early shoots, but I went to what turned out to be the last shoot in Hooker. I shared the ride with Stimpy from NW Ohio, it was a long ride, but worth it. There were challenging conditions with high winds, some times up to 30 mph winds. I was shooting into the wind about 5 feet (I had to just guess)...what a challenge! But oh so rewarding when you connected. I shoot woodchucks around here, but the distances are not near that far. I really enjoyed shooting PD's, the company and great food that Dan provided. Real good folks were there. I even met Bill (Graybeard) and Faye! I built a new rifle (22BR) with a 1-8" twist for long bullets to do better in the wind. Alas, it was the last shoot in Hooker.

Good Shooting and Good Luck

Norm I really do not know what I am going to do this yr yet. With my wife being ill and recuperating yet it is hard to put a plan together. I do need to make a trip to OK though some time to see first hand what is going on with some mineral rights land that I have. May also have a small bucket of oil money sitting out there that needs to be claimed. I will be contacting several of you guys when/if things become clearer. Kurt
