A WEATHER CONVERSATION
« on: February 22, 2013, 10:03:25 PM »
NOT about climate change or harsh storms butttt about MY weather where I live.
Down here on the third coast we don't get much harsh winter weather and this year has not seen any. It however, has been cold longer than any winter I can remember.
It started getting into the 40's and 50's in November and that is not unusual for short spell, two or three days, then a return to 70's and maybe 80's. This year it has rarely been in the 70's since November---brief warm spell just before Christmas.
I think I can understand cabin fever a little better---though it has not kept me from shooting or playing golf.
Blessings

Was last winter the mildest you can remember?

This winter has been normal here in central minnesota, except that we haven't had any cold snaps to 30 below zero or colder, but we have gotten more snow than usual.

Around here, the position of the jetstream has a huge influence on our weather.

For the most part same thing down here Conan. Right now the upper winds are lining up 3 or 4 pretty good snow/rain chance up for next week. Central Okla. doesn't  enjoy the same warm temps in the winter as the gulf, but usually decent with one maybe two good snows.

BTW I lived in Duluth for a couple years  and remember well the snow and cold.

I'm sure the "progressives" could explain how it's all about global warming (virtually everything is) and that you must change your lifestyle.
