Iran Says It Has Captured a Foreign 'Enemy Drone'        By ALI AKBAR DAREINI Associated Press  TEHRAN, Iran February 23, 2013 (AP) 
 
Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard said Saturday that it had captured a foreign unmanned aircraft during a military exercise in southern Iran.
 
Gen. Hamid Sarkheili, a spokesman for the military exercise, said the Guard's electronic warfare unit spotted signals indicating that foreign drones were trying to enter Iranian airspace. Sarkheili said Guard experts took control of one drone's navigation system and brought it down near the city of Sirjan where the military drills began on Saturday.
"While probing signals in the area, we spotted foreign and enemy drones which attempted to enter the area of the war game," the official IRNA news agency quoted the general as saying. "We were able to get one enemy drone to land."
 
Sarkheili did not say whether the drone was American.
In Washington, a CIA spokeswoman declined to comment on the report.
Iran has claimed to have captured several U.S. drones, including an advanced RQ-170 Sentinel CIA spy drone in December 2011 and at least three ScanEagle aircraft.
 
State TV said the Guard's military exercise, code-named Great Prophet-8, involved ground forces of the Guard, Iran's most powerful military force. State TV showed tanks and artillery attacking hypothetical enemy positions. He said various systems, including unmanned planes that operate like suicide bombers, were tested.
"Reconnaissance as well as suicide drones, which are capable of attacking the hypothetical enemies, were deployed and their operational capabilities were studied," the semi-official Fars news agency quoted him as saying.

 Yeah, you'd think they'd have some kind of security thingie on them. IIRC, the Iranians were talking about selling the 1st fancy one they downed to the Chinese.

Foreign:  Anyone in the Middle East except our Friend Israel

Drone:  One that blindly and unthinkingly follows the words and teachings of the lineage of Mohammad.

I am no fan of Iran but they have the right to defend their own sovereign airspace against intruders just like we do. How long would the United States tolerate constant drone incursions from Canada or Mexico before the drones' base was located and reduced to rubble?

What do you expect a country that is independent of global totalitarianism and who are directly in it's crosshairs to do?  Bow and deliver?  A great leader is one who defends his nation and people from enemies.  Remember, Britain pulled out of India and rightfully so.  Why are we so stuck now over there? 

I can tell you why we are over there bugging Iran.  We are there to secure Israel.  And that means if it takes $100 Trillion and 400,000 American lives to do that, like it did for the Balfour Declaration during WWI, every one of our leaders now will bow down and deliver you can bet.  Is that what you want as a free American?    I regret that America sacrificed 400,000 lives to turn the Middle East from a peaceful place into a hell hole.   We need to rethink our strategies after looking at the mistakes we made in the last century.  Like Patton said, we supported the wrong pig. 

Nothing is worth the sacrifice of so many of our people in war, and certainly not the result that we now get for it: mass immigration into our own countries, trade that wipes out our employment, multiculturalism that tears at the fabric of our culture, and gun control, needed only because the new apes we inherited can't control themselves.  What are we fighting for?  Nothing we want.
