Springfield XDS .45 auto
« on: February 25, 2013, 05:01:50 AM »
Anyone out there in 45 auto land carrying one of these or shot one. I have a Glock 27 but here in the Communist state of New York mag holds to many rounds. Thinking of trading it in.

Keep the Glock and don't worry about a law that will be either amended or repealed.  The governor is taking far too much heat on this to try and keep at it.  His main concern is how he will look for the '16 presidential race that he has already screwed himself out of and now that there is talk of hillary looking at the white house again he is quite liable to be cooked.  Keep the Glock.  If need be, install a magazine block to limit the # of rounds if you are that worried.

As for Springfield's XD series - and the 45 acp - check with a guy named NY Whitetailer, the moderator of the New York State forum - he tested one of the earlier versions (I believe) and gave it very high marks.  You may have to send him a pm - he doesn't talk to me.

I have the Springfield XDM 5.25 in .45acp. Mag capacity is 13 rounds plus one in the chamber. It's a very nice shooting gun and very accurate. It's a bit large for easy concealment but they do make smaller versions of it.

So far there have been no failures of any sort with mine and it shoots better than I am able to take advantage of. I didn't get this one for concealed carry tho it might become a truck defense gun or maybe just a home defense gun.

I have the xds 45 and it is extreamly nice to carry, very accurate, flawless mechanicaly, and did I mention nice to carry. I have shot american eagle 230gr fmj, winchester 230gr hp defense loads, and I just loaded the 200gr hornady xtp and all shoot great.I am not a big pistol fan but with the crime rate on the rise I carry more often now. This gun shoots great for how small it is.

I have a standard full size and love it. It's been very accurate and only had one jam so far (one of my handloads - maybe the OAL?). I like the grip angle and feel way better than the Glock and the safety features are nice (tactile loaded chamber indicator/ grip safety).

I know this is a old post but...

I got one this Saturday and have already put 100 + rounds through it.  No issues and the gun is accurate and much easier to shoot than you would think.
