I own both 30-30 and 35 Remington chambered rifles. I've never shot a deer with the 30-30 but have with the .32 Win Special, the 30-30's bigger cousin. I've shot deer with the 35 Remington also and always "thought" the 35 Remington was the better killer. However, after going over all the kills in my minds eye, if the deer is hit properly with either, you got winter meat. Both are equally accurate when fed the right loads. I have used the HDY FTX bullets to kill deer in both the .32 Win Special and the .35 Remington. Again, both hit correctly and both were bang flops. Personally, I just plain love .35 caliber chambered rifles as I own one .350 Mag, two .35 Whelens, three .358 Winchesters, four .35 Remingtons, and two .357 Mag chambered rifles. If you run across me in the woods hunting deer, I'll probably be carrying one of the above rifles. Then again I may have my hands wrapped around one of my 7mm-08's, one of my .308 Winchesters, one of my 30-06's, or my 7x57, my 6mm Rem, one of my three 30-30's, or one of my four .32 Win Specials! Oh let me not forget one of my .270 Winchester rifles. Oh my almost forgot about my four .300 Savage chambered rifles. Oh my decisions, decisions. Now I got a headache and gotta take a nap
