i am getting ready to buy a dozen conibears, what size do you recommend for coons, possums, and skunks. once i get them, how do i treat them, so they are ready to use in the bush.

Depending on your state trapping rules i would recommend 160 conis. THey will take all of the fur bearers you mentioned with ease. You can paint them. You can let a fine coat of rust on them and then dye them with natural things in the wild or you can dip them in a water base dip or petroleum base.

Aro,I have always dipped my traps with Blackies steel Coat.Use coleman fuel and not gasoline ,with the petroleum based dips.I swish my traps in the dip,shake them off and hang them up.I dip them only once,that way with my 330s I never have to scrape the triggers and trap dog.

I dip mine with half black oil paint and half thinner.
but for some real excitement on the trap line dip them in wax i did that about fifteen years ago and my hands still hurt. :eek:
