X-Bolt 'Micro-Hunter' in 7mm-08
« on: February 26, 2013, 11:14:38 PM »
Just thought I'd let you Browning fans know I ordered an X-Bolt 'Micro-Hunter' in 7mm-08. I had the dies, brass & ammo on the shelf, but no chambering for the round. I am well represented with the 243 & 308 but decided to get the 7mm-08 anyway. Just so happens I have a fair sized tax refund coming soon.

I could of saved a fair amount with a synthetic A-Bolt but spent the extra and went with the 20" barreled X-Bolt. I'm usually in cover and am a fan of lightweight, compact guns. This is my 1st X-bolt, happy with the A-Bolts over the years.

I ordered from Reeds/'Northern Firearms' in Walker, MN. They have a good assortment of Brownings in stock.

Sour, I have the X-Bolt Hunter in 7mm-08.  Bought it about a year ago. Have not made a kill with it yet, but it sure does shoot well. I have shot it quite a bit. I have loaded the 140 grain Barnes TTSX for it.  Groups are so small I am not sure how to measure them. I could not be more pleased with a rifle so far.

The gun resides here now. I just adjusted the trigger some, very nice & did some mild cleaning, wipedown. My Talley lightweight bases/rings are in. The only issue is I've been doing most of my deer hunting in IL lately, with my Knight muzzle-loader. I did measure the chamber to determine max COL to the lands for future reloading. I have a bunch of 120 & 139/140 grn bullets on hand.

I bought an A-Bolt hunter several years ago in 7mm-08. I load 140 gr Nosler Accu-bonds over Varget and get great accuracy and the deer I've shot with it never knew that I switched from a .300 WSM! Liked the round so much I bought a Kimber in the same chambering. I think that you will ove that little rifle
