45-120 and 50-140 stock work
« on: February 27, 2013, 08:31:52 AM »
Just thought I'd let y'all know I've got those stocks on the back burner for a bit.   :-[  I do have one right hand set of walnut furniture and I'm going to order another set, left hand this time  ::) , as soon as I post this!   ;D

Hi-ebber, and day always be a hi-ebber,  ;) those of you that have visited the "Traditional" Black Powder forum will have noticed I'm busy in that area.  I won't go into detail since it's all posted there, but the sum total is I just decided to finish a flinter squirrel rifle I got the parts for over 20 years ago!   ::)

Now this is a good thing!  It forced me to get all my woodworking/stock carving stuff organized and with all the cuttin anda raspin anda raspin anda sandin I'll be doing on the longrifle I'll get some good practice before I lay file to the handi stocks!   ;D

'course the bad news is I'll have ta check the stock lines with only one good eye,  :(  but the good news is I won't have to close the bad one!   :P

I sure hope not Tim!  :-\   Heck!  I'LL be finished long before 20 years!   ;D

But, like I said, I just ordered a set of walnut, left hand Monte Carlo w/cheek piece furniture.  I also asked Gunstocks Inc. to cut the stock to 13 and 3/4 inches and install a limbsaver pad.

Ya know, with all the boring and chambering and wood, these big bores is beginning to get expensive!   :o   Have you looked at the cost of express sights from NECG!?   :o :o

Sights are a bargain compared to their scope rings and mount prices!  :o

Maybe I should have warned you that 'Express Sights' meant 'express to your wallet'?

Richard, I'm amazed that someone burdened with your antiquity can still use irons.  Honestly, I'm glad to see you getting on with left hand shooting.  How is that right eye doing?
