Are you taking about the Cortez treasure that he stole from the Aztecs ?
Rumor is that's buried over at white sands missile range and it isn't a good idea to break in there
uninvited .

I think Cortes sent some of his loot he gathered on the way to Tenochtitlan back to Spain. I don't think he ever made it to Colorado...

LOL , Duuuh . No it isn't in Colo. Its located at the base of the Sangre De Cristo mountain range right
here in NM. The last known whereabouts of Cortez as he fled north . As well as Maxmillian .
Emperor of Mexico with the treasures of the Casa del Cueva de Oro .
Look up Victoria Peak, it lies square in the middle of white sands .
And is supposed to be where many Spanish explorers had stashed their treasure .
But it is also the back drop for about every missile test this country does .
So good luck searching you may get more than you bargained for .

Actually I believe the Sangre Del Christo Mt. range is a bit further North.  Think San Andres, & Organ Mts.
