Had heart attack monday
« on: February 28, 2013, 12:42:22 PM »
Guys I had a heart attack monday, and had to get two stints put in.  Big lifestyle change for me now.  Will be home from work for two weeks.  Keep me in your prayers.

I had one 2.5 years ago at the age of 56. 4 stints for me. Just do what your Cardiac Rehab nurses tell you, and you will do fine. I ended up changing my diet and lifestyle to stay alive. Lost 30 pounds and work out 3 days a week.

Hang in there! You will do fine!

Indeed Dixie Dude, will certainly keep you in my Prayers. Went through 5 bypasses and a roto router in 2005.  Been there.  You'll do just fine, Listen to the Doc and get that excercise.

Dixie Dude:

I didn't realize you literally had a heart attack. I thought it was a figurative reaction to some news story.

Anyway, best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I'll be interested to know what kind of changes you need to make. Maybe it can help the rest of us by teaching us something.

Best wishes!!!

By the way, my father had a heart attack at age 50 and he died of old age many years later.

Thanks guys,  wife read everything, said you were a good group of guys.  Got to go to recovery meetings and stuff now.  My enlarged prostrate is a problem.  Still have a cathather in.  Pain in the N**s. I feel a lot better.  Heart rate if much lower now.  I prayed when this happened, and the pain left and blood pressure came down.  Wife insisted I go in and the nurse said even though my EKG was normal ( times), the enzyne the heart puts out was the highest she had ever seen.  Got two clots out and put in two stints.   Spell check ins blocked for some reason.  Sorry for misspelled words.

I have had 6 heart attacks, 5 angioplasties and 11 stints.
First one was 23 years ago when I was 32 and the last one was a little over a year ago.
Haven't had to split me yet and hope they never do.
Hang in there and with GOD'S help you will be fine.
Prayers to you and your family for a speedy recovery my friend.
