I have been trying to get some 158 gr. ammo for my 38 sp. in a SWC or HP. The stuff is impossible to get. I reload and can't even get any bullets that fit that description . I have called local gun stores, looked on line---NADA.    We don't need a ban on firearms. We are doing it ourselves by buying up all the ammo so no one else can have any. It would be better if the government rationed it. At least than I'll be able to get some.

I just got a 357 a few weeks ago. I wasn't able to find anything whatsoever til a couple days ago, i managed to get some berrys 158 plated RNs. But all i can do is load them in whatever 38 range pickups i have, i can't get new cases for 38 and 357s are nowhere in sight. Once i use the plated ones up my only option is casting

From what I'm hearing on the news it will be food really soon. They are talking about laying off 1/3 of the food inspectors and meat processing plants in the US can't touch the meat without inspection. Of course China and Argentina have no such silly rules so they might step in and send us some meat to eat. Of course you'll never know what it is or how it was handled.

I am confindent the folks in DC and the powers that be wanted this to happen and will use it to bring about the downfall of the US economy they have been trying so hard to collapse. Look for martial law and government take over of EVERYTHING by mid summer.

I agree with Graybeard.  The government is not here to help.  You all have not seen panic yet...wait until you get a hint of a food shortage and the supply chain will be done in a matter of days    If you think people are getting goofy now with ammo we are all going to be in for a rude awakening when it comes to a food shortage.

My father passed away a couple years ago at 94, he grew up in rural Texas and survival end the depression (as I was often reminded). I don't believe he ever went through 1,500 rounds of ammo, but he never missed what he shot at and got his deer every year. Point is, you want to shoot you don't need to shoot. The comming depression is going to be much worse than the last. You need to save your ammo.

Ah Graybeard - I ain't no bleeding heart liberal. Just not as far right as some here . I'm surprised you think so; considering I own guns and reload , have hunted in several countries and butcher my own game. That doesn't fit the discription of a bleeding heart liberal. thats where im at.all my rifles and handguns are sighted in and ready to go.i plan to just leave them alone except for maybe 2 rifles i will use all the time.my 6.5x55 mauser sporter for deer and coyotes. a 100 rounds may last me several years.i only kill maybe 3 or 4 deer a year and maybe 5 coyotes.throw in a bob cat or two and im good for 10 years. my other rifle currently is a marlin 22 mag scoped.i use it for small game and farm varmints.shells are rediclously high. but i havent shot more than a box a year for last 2 years.
 
to me once you learn how to shoot a rifle you dont really need to practice. is it good to practice? yes!if you practice all the time you will be a better shot than me.maybe yu can hit a nickel at 100 yrds.but all i have to do is hit a softball at 100 yrds to kill a deer or coyote.i dont shoot really very many rounds a year, but ive killed everything i pointed a gun at for years.
 
now pistol shooting is a whole diff story, but i wont go into that

 While I agree with most that the admins final plans to "change" the nation are about to come in a blitzkreig attack on many fronts, I'm surprised, or will be if free market capitalism doesn't take control of such a scenario as we see played out. Why haven't new companies formed to begin producing ammunition and reloading materials? Probably because of new regulation but it seems like it would have happened still with so much profit to be made.. And so far as for all the meat inspectors being laid off, hopefully private industry could step in and hire those inspectors outright as employees? Just seems like there should be folks jumping in to fill the voids that government creates. They can only destroy our nation if we allow it. Alright enough optimism, gonna go to auldi's tomorrow and get my oversupply of ration, can't believe we're talking about this stuff or actually having to worry about it in America.   J

Are you handloading your personal defense ammo? The only factory ammo I buy is personal defense ammo and rimfire ammo. I wouldnt want to have to explain my handloads to some scum bag prosecutor in court after a defensive shooting. You just know they would accuse you of knowingly handloading more "lethal" and "destructive" ammuntion on purpose...the kind of ammo that can shoot down aircraft and blow up railroads if it is fired from a semi-automatic weapon.

GB, that mid summer prediction has been made every year now since 2008 .
I do think you are right , but its apparent they have bit off more then they can chew .
There is no longer any doubt that our government is waging war against us .
But back in 08 that was called crazy and a conspiracy theory .
So anything that sounds unfeasible now needs to be looked at as a possible reality .
We have watched two openly rigged elections during the worse economy in decades.

Exactly how can a dealy weapon become more deadly?
This argument has  been debunked in court before.
If I'm going to apply deadly force my outcome will be the same if i have to shoot once with some super secret recipe handload or until I empty all my mags/clips into thier corpse.

The public in general eat up all the stuff about; carving x's in bullets, hollow points, armor piercing, expanding, filing rifling from barrels so there is no evidence, and on.  They in general don't know a bullet from a shotshell hull, but they do make up a lot of public opinion, and they will be selected for juries of "peers".
