Well that's why armies wear different uniforms.
So you only shoot the enemy ,and not your own.
I didn't see any pictures of rogue cops.
Just pictures of enemy targets of the DHS.
The only thing surprising about the pictures is that we got a look at them!

I think the point to those targets is looks can be deceiving. Take Jodi Arias, she certainly doesn't look like a threat either, but we all know what's she's capable of.

Jodi Arias sounds like a case for local authorities rather than DHS. So much for using that example to justify DHS shooting at those targets for practice.

I remember in basic training when I was required to shoot at human silouette targets for the first time it was a huge shock to get over. I was a country boy taught to never point my gun at anything but animals and bullseyes. But I was conditioned. Later in law enforcement the targets kept getting more and more lifelike and I was conditioned.

How far is DHS going to go to condition their troops?? Maybe actual photos of each troopers own mother??

I apparently couldn't get into that website without joining..but I am familiar with the targets.. they are all over the internet..many showing the disgusting targets.  I thought someone was kidding!  Of course we didn't see any which looks like Haji !
However, since they are all over the internet  Factcheck and snopes MUST have been asked to verify.  So, let's test those supposedly "unbiased" sources to see if they are willing to expose the lefty admin..   In any case, they should handle the obvious question... wherever the chips fall..

No she is the perfect example. According to the company that makes these targets....

Quote
This product line was  originally requested and designed by the law enforcement community to train police officers for unusually complex situations where split second decisions could lead to an unnecessary loss of life

This tells me that these targets were originally intended for your so called "local authorities" as opposed to the DHS, as you want us to believe. ::)

Pregnant women kill innocent people using firearms. Women with children kill innocent people using firearms. Old women and old men kill innocent folks using a firearm. Psychosis and mental illness doesn't go away when you are pregnant or have children. Women are not immune, nor are old men. Many a police officer has been killed when responding to a domestic dispute because they thought this or were hesitant to defend themselves when confronted by the same. Drug dealers and other criminals use children as runners all the time. Many of these young kids have firearms on them and are not afraid to use them. You expect a LEO to take a bullet and die, leave his wife a widow and children fatherless because the threat pointing a gun at them with their finger on the trigger is not a 6' tall black crackhead wearing a hoodie? Get real. That is as much fantasy as thinking these targets are preparing the DHS to gun down innocent people for no reason. NONE of those folks pictured in those targets are a situation of innocence. They all are examples of a deadly threat. Hesitating to defend yourself means they win and you lose....is that what you are promoting?

NONE of those folks pictured in those targets are a situation of innocence.

SO just holding a gun makes you guilty? The old evil white lady in her bath robe in her kitchen looks like she is defending her own home. Is that a crime? The little devious smiling 5 year old evil white boy looks like he is having a fun time target shooting for the first time in his life, Is that also a crime?  The evil white pregnant lady also looks like she is defending her home and her unborn child is that a crime? The evil white lady on the playground also looks like she is defending herself as well as her evil white children. Is that a crime? Probably should also gun the children down after you drop mom. They look pretty shifty to me.

That is as much fantasy as thinking these targets are preparing the DHS to gun down innocent people for no reason.
No fantasy. There is no other reason for DHS to exist other than as a hit squad for the government. Everything they currently do could just as easily be done by the National Gaurd. They are the modern day version of Hitler's Gestapo

You expect a LEO to take a bullet and die, leave his wife a widow and children fatherless because the threat pointing a gun at them with their finger on the trigger is not a 6' tall black crackhead wearing a hoodie? Get real.
A little dramtic arent you? Get over yourself. Statistics would not support the images being depicted on those targets as being real life threats.

The Department of Homeland Security was a bipartisan shred of our Constitution. 1.6 billion rounds of ammo and practicing on civilian targets. Hmmm.......

I'ld love to see the official statistics on the number of cops gunned down by moms on playgrounds or by 8 year old boys.   It must rank right up their with the number of people gunned down by "assault riffles".  ::)

I think it's just coincidence that DHS bought 1 or 2 BILLION ROUNDS of a non-military cartridge and they are buying targets that look like law abiding white citizens protecting their homes.

What are these for?  Who do they intend on using them against?

   Just in case you're wondering;
By their very title, the "Homeland Defense" will only be operating in the homeland..
We. the American public don't have artillery or rocket launchers...just small arms, so a lightly armored vehicle will be adequate..
It would seem that if they can visualize the need for billions of rounds and 2,700 light armored vehicles (in this order alone), they must be visualizing something like the Syria of today..

BTW: As I see it, when they say "non-military" rounds..one has to assume they actually mean hollow points, V-max, exploding or any other bullets the Geneva Convention forbids to the military as "too inhumane"..

Might want to check the nutrition label on your Cheerios.  The article does not say that DHS bought the targets. It does try to create a connection. As for the billions of rounds, that's questionable too.

I don't see where you assume that from..unless the targets were labelled."resisting christian" or some such tag..

The Homeland Security intentions would be a safe assumption, being as the Homeland Security is designed and activated for strictly homeland activities!

Something seems odd here as most training to desensitize shooters would be shooting at humanoid targets with clothes on . Trust me using them is very realistic and one really has to over come shooting another human. Picture targets just don't come close.

I thought the "National Guard" was supposed to protect the "homeland".   Guess not, huh?

I think there were a coupla changes in the definition of the reserves, one under Nixon in '73 and another under Bush in '07 that made the state reserves more like regular army, whereas the President or congress can call on them to perform duties outside our country, where before that they didn't. They became a part of the DOD which  deals with military operations abroad. DHS was initiated by Bush to protect private citizens in our country from threats of terrorism. Later on, still under Bush, it was reorganized to help during times of national emergencies such as man-made or natural disasters and to help with immigration and border control.

That anyone would  claim these targets were designed by DHS to ready their personnel to attack innocent civilians for no reason is hilarious. First off, the manufacturers states it was LEOs that first requested them for desensitization. The case in point being......anyone pointing a firearm at a uniformed police officer with their finger on the trigger is a threat, period. Age, sex, race is moot. While it is not a pleasant thought, it is the truth. To go a step farther and use them as terrorist targets is not far fetched.  Anyone here really think terrorists are not gonna disguise themselves as innocents? When was the last time a terrorist dressed up as an obvious terrorist before implementing an act of terrorism?  In the mid-east women and children are used as suicide bombers all the time. Those in Vietnam were exposed to this also. I for one, have a real hard time envisioning the same dedicated folks(police, our military and members of DHS) that put their lives on the line everyday to protect our rights, will violate those rights the next day for some mystical reason and go on a spree killing innocent civilians. I give them more credit than that. I have more faith in them than over-zealous internet posters wearing tin foil hats.  ::) This is not being left or right. This is being realistic.

I remember seeing law enforcement of some sort beat an old woman to the ground to confiscate her handgun in the Katrina era.  That didn't seem too "realistic" either.  Don't think it couldn't happen again.

Seems like a year ago BO signed a document giving him the right to confiscate private property if certain conditions were met.  How about the DHS stash of ammo?  Seems like there are lots of not too "realistic" things happening these days.  I'm not exactly sure what it means, but it is very concerning to me.

No, I don't have an aluminum foil hat, but I do recall seeing a news clip of our National Guard shooting a bunch of college students when I was in my late teens.  It seemed pretty realistic to me when it happened.
