BREAKING: Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez Dead at 58

According to Vice President Nicolás Manduro, Socialist Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has died. The controversial President of the South American country since 1999, was 58 years old.
Yesterday, Information Minister Ernesto Villegas said, “There is a worsening of the respiratory function, related to the state of his depressed immune system.” The government has never specified what type of cancer Chavez was suffering from since 2011.

A self-described champion of the poor who first tried to overturn Venezuela’s powerful elites in a failed 1992 coup, Chavez was democratically elected in 1999, with huge support from the country’s poor.
During his time in office, he became one of Latin America’s most well-known and polarizing figures. A constant thorn in the side of the United States, he commanded headlines in newspapers around the world. A populist who suppressed free speech, he remained immensely popular among his country’s poor.

I am wondering if things might change there in the future, maybe a military coup and things might get better.....couldn't be any worse. I pray there will be some hope and change there. Real hope and change, not the socialist kind. We're getting here.

You know I was going to pass on a post here but it got the best of me.

Some young don't have clue folk talk about fearing what we don't know and don't understand. Thousands have died defending the freedoms of this country, the constitution and the things that made this the best place in the world to live. The fact that some in this country think socialism and dictatorships are good and we are just scared of the truth , just don't get it and don't deserve the freedoms they have. I only hope that in the future there are more people like the ones that like this country and remember how it got here than the ones that want it to be a socialist cesspool, and if not then let the chips fall where they may and all get what they want and deserve. You know all this crap has been tried and it didn't work then either. In your new country when you speak out no one is going to tell you that you are stupid. A black booted thug is going to come to your door and no one will hear your ideas again. In Venezuela they don't have freedom of speech. I guess that's why so many of the people down there try and come here, cause its so bad here and we are all scared and capitalist. Maybe what this country needs is a good house cleaning.

And Bolivia ? Hummm , people I know who have gone hunting down there say they believe that's where the old S. African Apartheid government ended up .
