Yet another shorty
« on: March 05, 2013, 01:45:41 PM »
I bought this one from a friend several months ago in a synthetic stock and while i liked it, it just was not really what i wanted. I wanted a different stock, but i kept missing out on ones i liked in the classifieds here so i jumped on this set when i found it on a 20 gauge at a gun show a couple of weeks ago. The gun is one of the 44 magnums that came on a sb2 receiver, it was originally 22" now it is 17". it will go a little shorter when i get my own lathe in a few months and get threaded for a future suppressor. It should be very handy(pun intended) to carry now that it is shortened. I have not decided if i am going to scope it or put the iron sites back on. An added bonus is the 20 gauge barrel locked up perfectly on this receiver.

Sweet ! I really like it. How does it shoot ?

That gun is screaming for a peep sight and Fire Sight blade! No need for a scope 0-100 yards... very nice.

Thanks guys, I have not shot it since it was cut. It got cut saturday and i had a tooth pulled monday, dr ordered me not to shoot ( yes, he knows me ;D ) for the rest of the week.
I have thought about peep sights, but have never really shot with them so i dont know if i would like them or not. Since i am on a tight budget and i have a 2-7x32 nikon coming off my 10/22, i think that is how i am going to run it for now.
Its use will be short range obliteration of anything that crosses my path (deer, hogs, etc). Most of where i have to deer hunt is less than 100 yards so this will be great for me.
