Walnut Stocked Handi's.... lets see them
« on: March 06, 2013, 10:12:10 AM »
I really love a nice, classic styled walnut stock.  Especially if it has nice checkering.   I am thinking of trying to find one for my .35 Whelen Handi rifle.   If you guys have nice photos of your, I'd love to see them.
thanks

Factory Topper Deluxe Classics and BC Carbine forends( both discontinued) are my favorites. You can see lots of stocks in the FAQs topic "Let's See Some Handis", seems to me there are about 10 pages of pics, although some have broken links.

For those that dont kick too bad the BC/TM/CR wood is good. For something stout the TDC (like Tim's shows) c/w the recoil pad is WAY nice. The schnable forestock goes with either, as does the bullnose TDC one as both are checkered.
Then there is the custom wood and even the choice of a Mannlicher in walnut.

I must admit, I love wood the most too.  Tim's Handi's are great looking.

What places are best to get replacement stocks now.  Will the 45-70 Buffalo Classic stocks fit most other Handi's?

45-70 Harrington & Wesson 28" with BC long forend, and 22" 30-30 with BC carbine wood.

The 45-70 is heavy, so OK with trapdoor loads which is all I shoot in it so far.

Stocks fit any Handi I have including a shotgun.

Swampman did you refinish that set?

There is a walnut stock on gunbroker, no forend.  It's under rifles.

It's the factory finish.

Thanks Mike!  ;) GSI sells custom Handi stocks, here's a pic of Stuffit's(may he rest in peace) BC in GSI wood.
