New Superlight variation added to the inventory.
« on: March 07, 2013, 04:45:07 AM »
Well I finally have one of two variations that I want to share with you guys. As you are aware I have been trying to research and decipher the possibilities of this combo. So the first one I bought is a H&R youth compact. HX code. It came with sights and the factory scope base and hammer spur. As you are aware they have a very small youth stock (Tim correct me here, 10 1/2 LOP) so I added a slip on by Pachmayr and added some felt pads cut out to fit the original butt pad. I slid that over the youth stock and butt pad and now have a nice 13 1/4 LOP which you will see in the pics. Then I slid an Allen cartridge holder over it to break up the contour.  Added a Pentax 4x12x40 scope. I have some Sierra 85gr Game Kings BTHP loaded for it. I do have a Sims vibration ring to experiment on it if groups are bad. (Note it did wonders to my friends identical rifle for groups). Also want to do the O ring trick. If anyone has any that will fit as well as filler screws for where I removed sights let me know. I have another special superlight NEF NW code in factory adult camo synthetic coming next week.

That would be the youth or compact model.  ;)

All Superlights(Hornet,223, 243 & 7mm-08) have a 20" light contour similar to original H&R Inc rifle barrels except for one that I know of and personally own, the discontinued 44 Mag Compact Superlight which just has a 20" standard contour barrel and youth stock.

Well I hope to get one next week that will meet the specifications...
I guess what my post was not to decipher what it is or isn't to most, but more of an accomplishment of what I had came up with for a good all around compromise for youth and adult and multi purpose.

I've done that to make a youth stock work for me, a Galco slip-on on my 405 Win with a youth TDC stock worked fine. Lots of folks here use the ATI adjustable stock for multi-users on light kickers too, kinda cheesy to me, but it works for them.  ;)
