I have one of those Letterman multi-purpose tools. Sort of like a Swiss army knife without the cheese spreader.

When your post is at the top of the page, it kind of looks stupid.

You mean like how we were real good at computers when we were kids?
Everything I know about technology I learned from the Jetsons.

Also, kids have about twice as much history and science to learn than we did.

there weren't any computers like
this one when i was a kid.
a computer then took up a whole
climate-controlled room with several
men in white shirts and ties to
operate them, as opposed to one
young person in shorts and a t-shirt
that looks like they just crawled out
of bed.

if you had a portable telephone, it was
attached to a lincoln or cadillac or
98 oldmobile and you were a doctor or a lawyer
or a policeman named mcgarret or a private
detective named cannon.

did george jetson ever get free of that
treadmill, or did jane stop that crazy thing?

When I was a kid we had a portable phone. You could go ALMOST half way across the living room before you ran out of cord. Also my parents must have been very popular because we had a party line. I don't remember the parties very well so they must have been good ones. At least that is what I seem to have learned in my teens, the best parties were the ones you couldn't remember.

from what my mother has told
me, a party line must have been
the predecessor to these 1-800
chat lines, except everyone listened
instead of talking.
you didn't tell aunt so-and-so anything
on the phone while talking to her that
you didn't want the rest of the neighbors
to know.

Lol, that brought back memories.  I can still remember my aunt hanging up with her boyfriend and ending with "We're hanging up now, Mrs. Johnson.  You can get off.  Be sure to tell Sam to bring me my book on the bus tomorrow."

Where did I lay my book?

When I was in college "party lines" were something that were white and highly illegal.......

Computers and robots were huge in the 1960s......who did you like better:  Rosie from Jetsons,  "Robot" on Lost in Space,  or GORT?

Cuba hit the news big time in the '60s with the revolution, exodus, and missile crisis.

The Lettermen had many Top 40 hits in the 1960's ....

Okay this was a Multi-Jack reply......your turn to drive.   ;)
