Took a roadtrip to Cabela's in Hamburg PA. yesterday.  On the way back, we counted 29 deer and 1 turkey.  Good to see game out and moving again.  I can't wait to see more of the snow go away.
getting closer to opening day of bow season every day.
A bad day of hunting is better than a good day at the golf course.

I went to the range yesterday and on the way home we counted in 1 field 73 turkeys picking in the manure.  Man I wish I had my camera with me.

Their phone district is Moria, N.Y. And last I knew their post office was in Bangor, N.Y. They live on top of a hill and on a clear night you can see canada from their too!  :toast:

I know the area well. My job has me traveling all over the county. I have people in that area I see on a regular basis.  On a cloudy night I can see Canada out my back door. But, I remain ready in case of a sneak attack in the night from the North.

My Sister in law just left here. At 5:30 tonight in a field near her house they counted 52 deer out there milling around and feeding. More there but was what they could count.

Well, things have been warming up here in the Catskills in the last week or so, and the snow at the edges of the roads and along hillsides that get sun all day long is melting. That is drawing a LOT of the deer and turkeys to what little scrub grass that is exposed. Which is also makng driving very dangerous. Last night my wife and I went out to eat with a few friends and along a 2 to 3 mile stretch of Rt 28. There were about 25 to 30 deer right along the edges of the road. A few crossed right in front of us. On the way back, while going back throught the same stretch. One deer had been hit. This morning on the way to work along the same stretch, another had been hit.
Watch out for them.

Franz

Man the deer are on the move. Turkeys seen all over also. This warm snap and some snow melt will be a big help to them. Only 2 months to turkey season
