The 1st thing Marlin did after aquiring H&R was secure a huge order for Pardners from Kmart.  For some reason, they sold them under the Marlin brand name.  But it's an H&R Pardner through and through.

That Marlin Model 200 shotgun was made for them prior to them purchasing the company.

Keep in mind if you do find one that H&R will NOT fit barrels to the the Marlin receivers, even tho they built them. I paid a little extra for a .28 gauge barrel off GBO classifieds to put on my Marlin 200 receiver, only to have a local gunsmith butcher the fitting process... >:( ...that project is on hold. The Marlin receiver serial numbers start with KM### if you ever find one you're not sure of...Scott B.

I have had one of them, best part was it had the small fireing pin.  I still have the stock on my SB2 receiver, it has a Marlin buttplate.  Larry

Upnut, if you cant salvage that 28ga. barrel to be fit again you might be about to turn it into an insert barrel, or chamber anyway to fit a 12ga.
If that 'gunsmith' has a lathe and ANY reputation left with you he could/should do that for free.

Thanks for the tip, but I'm looking for a "project" Pardner (cheap) as a donor to give it another try...Scott B.
