Gone to Texas

Well, I get to return to my beloved Hill Country to hunt hogs with some of my Colorado friends.  I will be posting pics.

dougk, Llano county.  And the pigs were not moving too much.  The bit of rain that came (8/10ths at the ranch) kept then in cover mostly.  But we did get a few.

About 35 miles north of there in San Saba Co. we got 2.6". That was just enough rain to soften up the bermuda fields and make it fun for the hogs.
I found new rooting and walked up on a dozen this past Saturday, only to dispatch 2 of them. Both are now in my freezer. I'm still amazed how much fat is on these things. The sow went around 125 and the young boar was around 90.

We had less than .25 and the hogs were out.  Time to take on hogzilla...


Here little piggie I have something for you.  GEICO pig I have something for you too...


As a side note: Do you find it interesting that the Government Employee Insurance Company (GEICO) has a pig as their spokes animal...
