Sportster monte carlo stock
« on: March 11, 2013, 02:54:31 AM »
Just ordered a monte carlo synthetic stock for my Sportster, from Midway.  I built up the straight stock I have with the cut up mouse pad, last fall, and it worked great, but I decided I wanted to put the new stock on instead.  If I can find somebody here in Indiana, to do a camo dip on  the stock and forend, the Sportster will be stylin', come next squirrel season!  ;D

Well, found a guy in Lafayette, IN. that does hydrographic camo.  Took the stock to him Sat.  Should have it back Wed./Thurs.  If he does a great job, I'll post a pic of the gun and his company info.

Should get it back today, or possibly tomorrow.  Soon as I get put back together, I'll take some pics and post them.

Picked the stock up this pm.  Thought the kid did a fine job.  Don't have a  comparison, because it's the 1st time I've ever done this.  Gonna post 2-3 pics, then I'll give his info.

His name is:

Josh Cummins
Cummins Hydrographics
Lafayette, IN. 47909

765-413-5015

He has a web site, but it is tied to facebook.  If you have an account there, just google up the company name.

Looks good in the pictures.  What's the texture like?  Price?

That's a heck of a scope for Hoosier tree rats.  :)

YRU,  I told him to leave the texture rough on the black stock, and he did.  I don't think the hydrographic print adds texture whatsoever.  Smooth stock, smooth finish.  The kid has only been after this in the last year, but I think he's good.  Stocks will run around $100, but I think he'll deal.

I'd like to see H&R offer the synthetic stocks in a couple of camo variations, rather than just black.  I think they would sell, even at a higher price.  The hydrographic dipping really isn't all that cheap, but it was my birthday present to me, so what the h**l..... ;D

The checkered camo syns are available from H&R, an easy swap, see the retail parts page in the FAQs, I've bought or traded for most of mine in the classifieds, they've made plain camo syns in the past, dunno if H&R still has those tho.  ;)
