Rand Paul admits to a possible presidential run          by WHAS11 WHAS11.com Posted on March 9, 2013 at 10:30 PM      WASHINGTON (WHAS11) – After his 13-hour filibuster stunt on the senate floor Wednesday, Kentucky senator Rand Paul back in the national spotlight and admits to a possible presidential run.

Senator Paul told Politico.com he hasn’t made any decision yet and won’t until sometime in 2014.

Paul says the Republican Party needs a change if they want to appeal to voters outside of its conservative base.

Paul also discussed the negative effects running a campaign would have on his family and he said that could be a determining factor on whether he runs or not.

“You know when I ran for the senate we didn’t realize how difficult it would be on the family.” Paul said. “There were so many nights my wife was home crying at the abuse that we got and some of it you really take personally.”

Paul made headlines when he held a 13-hour filibuster in order to block the confirmation of President Barack Obama’s pick to head the CIA.

Paul’s supporters say this move will help him because it shows he can stand his ground.

Probably wasnt a good idea for him to say this. Now the Republicrat smear machine can ramp up and have over 3 years to marginalize him and destroy his credibility.

I think I agree with the last two posts... but I didn't vote for his old man. I went for Gary Johnson (he was on the ballot, Dr Paul wasn't)

Ron should have sat back and shut up last election that he knew he had no chance in. I believe Rand would have had a darn good chance of beating hussein. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

Rand wouldn't have made it past the "Romney is the only one who can beat Obama" Republican primaries.

I agree with the Swamp.  It's pretty clear to me that whoever does the final tally of the votes decided who the next president would be BEFORE THE ELECTION!  Same for the previous three elections.   The "counters" almost flubbed the 2000 election until they figured out the "hanging chad" diversion.

LOL! Really? He's a younger version of Ron Paul. His dad didn't have a chance but he does? ::)
Truth is............The RNC tells most voters who to vote for, and they do it.Fox and other bought and paid for so called informers of the news will..........Before and during the elections tell their viewers he is a kook, just like his old man and the sheep will bleat and follow like good lil sheeple, and vote for another Liberal Republican. care to wager? ;)

Unless he can get rid of those videos of that redneck stomping on that lady's head at one of his TP rallies, an act that he has NEVER even admitted was wrong, he won't have a chance. And you can GUARANTEE that video will follow him.

Oh, yeah, he'd have to get rid of the appearance on Dave Letterman where he looked like a fool, too.

You hit the nail on the head. That is why I said in in an earlier post that I am devoting my remaining years to enjoying myself and ignoring the whole political mess. We are outnumbered, plain and simple. Bye,bye, USA. That tube is angling down more sharply every day and it has plenty of slippery lubricant.
