« on: March 14, 2013, 03:00:12 PM »
Whats the best way to free it up a bit? Take it apart and clean it up. Just use it?
Thanks, Jer

I have one that is stiff too. I'm just shooting it. You could take the formed spacer off, sand the end down a little bit and keep trying it to see if that loosens it any.

Thanks, Dinny

I had a new Sportster like that at Christmas, ejector didn't work it was so tight.  I cleaned it well and just sat in front of the tv watching a football game slowly opening and closing it.  It's fine now.

Who were you watching? ;D  Might make the opening and closing easier. I guess I can just watch a basketball game tonight.  OU lost, I am mad, good night for it I guess.
Thanks, Jer

That wouldn't work for me. I fall asleep every time I watch an OU game. ;D

Just use it, it will get better with use.  All of my new ones were stiff.  Now just push the button and they fall open.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Before making ang changes try a little paraffin or dry lube on the frame or spacer/forend.  ;)

I watch or have on about any football or basketball game so no idea what the game was.  If you watch your team and they are losing it may help loosen it up quicker since the opening and closing will get "accelerated" as you scream at the TV.  Adult beverages seem to enhance this.   ;D

I took a small piece of 800 grit sand paper and put it on a block and took about 2-3 strokes and then re-assembled and tested, until mine just barely loosened.  ;)

It is def. the front spacer and forarm. It even bulges a little when put back on the receiver.  It looks like the forarm had been filed on the bottom a little.  Don't think it was the origianl owner though. I am not sure he shot it.  I just barely touched it up and it is a little better.
Thanks, Jer
