For those who missed it-- Take 1/2 hour out of your schedule and click on to the rerun.  5 million NRA members and 100 million gun owners.  We can't afford to be complacent any longer!

Gun owners are NOT complacent!  Without their support, Obama could not have been elected.  The NRA's own numbers prove it.

Granted, Romney's record on guns is nothing to be proud of, but an NRA member voting for Osama?  That at the very least should be a hanging offense.

It's kinda like a captain of a Spanish galleon being a pirate.

In my opinion, it's most of the 100 million gunowners who are not NRA members who are not engaged who are the complacent.  I believe NRA members are educated, involved, and realize what the stakes are.  Most of the gunowners think the 2ed amendment is for hunters.

The 2nd amendment CAN'T be about hunting when you think about it. At the time it was written, it was inconceivable to NOT hunt. Meat could be bought but for the most part most men had to get out and provide for their families the old fashioned way.

It would be like writing an amendment now protecting the right to drive a car

Actually, it would be more like an amendment protecting the right to keep and bear high performance cars with 40 gallon fuel tanks.  Without such an amendment, sleazy government regulators can easily limit how far you can go, how quickly you can get there, and what you can take with you.  Just like they do right now.  What difference does it make if most of one's arsenal is abandoned at their residence, or on the side of the road, in an out-of-fuel muscle car?

right now all the colorado bs does not affect me.  if i want to sell a gun, my plan was to consign it so I had no need to answer ads, make a judgement of character and all.  The background check WILL prevent me from loaning a gun to a friend, apparently.  Just be chance, my mags are 15 rounds.

The 2nd is about militias being armed "regularly" with the same state of art things as the government.  At that time it was accurate (but slow loading) rifles, bayonets, swords, etc.  plus The state of the art was at that time a Brown Bess which could be shot 3 times a minute, so now the "check" on government forces would be what is commonly called an assault rifle; anc actually should include automatics.

Do not permit your enemy or the authorities to decide when you might fight!
Choose that time and that day for yourself!

Keep in mind people,
regardless of how bad strife or anarchy might get,

any patriot or defender of freedom (of hearth and home and family)
who acts too soon defending him/herself

could find him/herself an OUTLAW overnight.

And your home literally uninhabitable.
